About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Answered (“Answered,” “we,” “us”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers answeredhq.com and the services we provide. By using the site or services, you agree to this policy.
Information you give us
We collect the information you choose to share, including:
- Contact and business details you enter in a form: name, business name, phone, email, website, and your answers or message.
- Booking details when you schedule a call: name, email, phone, meeting time, and any notes.
- Account information if you use Command Center, plus the lead and customer data you store there.
- Payment details for paid plans, entered directly with our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store full card numbers.
Information we collect automatically
When you visit the site, we collect basic technical and usage data through privacy-friendly analytics, such as pages viewed, referring source, approximate location, device and browser type, and similar log data. This helps us find slow pages, broken paths, and what is working.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies for essential site function and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking some may affect how the site works.
How we use information
We use the information to:
- Respond to your request, quote, schedule, and follow up.
- Provide, operate, secure, and improve the service and the site.
- Send calls or text messages you have consented to receive.
- Send service and account messages, and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
Calls and text messages
When you provide a phone number and affirmatively consent, Answered, or a system we run for a client, may call or send automated text messages about your request or appointment. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Every message identifies the business, message and data rates may apply, and you can opt out at any time by replying STOP. We do not share text-messaging opt-in or consent data with third parties for their own marketing; it is used only to deliver the messages you asked for.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers that run the platform on our behalf, under contract, including Stripe (payments), Cal.com (booking), telecom and SMS carriers (calls and texts), Supabase and Vercel (hosting and data), email-delivery providers, and AI providers such as Anthropic.
- A business that uses Answered, where you submitted a request to that business so it can respond to you.
- Authorities or others when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of the service.
- A successor in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations, and resolve disputes. When it is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it. You can ask us to delete your data sooner, subject to those obligations.
Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you.
- Opt out of calls and texts by replying STOP, and opt out of emails using the unsubscribe link.
- Ask us not to sell or share your information; we do not sell it.
- Exercise additional rights under laws such as the California CCPA/CPRA by contacting us. We will not discriminate against you for doing so.
Children’s privacy
The site and services are meant for businesses and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child gave us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Third-party links
Our site and messages may link to other websites we do not control. This policy does not cover those sites, so review their privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use of the site or services after a change means you accept the updated policy.
